MONCKS CORNER — The Berkeley County School Board wants the community's input on who should be the new superintendent.
The board and consultants from BWP & Associates are conducting a series of meetings Sept. 2 - Sept. 4 to hear residents opinions on what qualities are needed to replace Superintendent Chester Floyd, who is retiring in January after 12 years with the district.
They've invited various groups such as business and community leaders, district and school administrators and teachers, parents and student leaders.
There will be a total of 14 public forums for anyone interested in sharing their thoughts. Open forums for the community are scheduled from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Berkeley High, Timberland High and Stratford High; 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Hanahan High, Cross High and Cane Bay High; and Thursday from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Goose Creek High.
