Dorchester County sheriff’s deputies on Thursday released a sketch of a suspect in an attempted kidnapping last month in the Plum Creek subdivision.

A 15-year-old Summerville girl told deputies that she was walking on Rosaria Drive about 1 a.m. on July 10 when a man got out of a truck and tried to grab her. The girl screamed and fought until she broke free and ran to a friend’s house.

Adults in the neighborhood went out looking for the man before calling law enforcement, according to the incident report.

The man was described as white, with dark hair, about 6 feet tall, possibly in his late 30s. The truck was described as a small, older-model dark pickup, perhaps a low-rider type.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the Sheriff’s Office at 873-5111 or Crime Stoppers at 554-1111.
