Margot Freudenberg, a Holocaust survivor and one of Charleston’s beloved volunteers has died at age 105. She leaves a legacy of hope for cancer survivors as the founder of the first American Cancer Hope Lodge in the United States. Hope Lodge opened in 1970 and has served generations of patients who must undergo cancer treatment away from home. She is also the longest serving volunteer in the history of the American Cancer Society.
